Still Life with Barbell

I work out at home with exercise videos. Monday is the most important day; if I get in a workout Monday morning, it sets the tone for the week and I am much more likely to get in several more workouts during the week. The reverse is unfortunately true as well; no workout on Monday makes it that much harder to get going later in the week. I also try to do a tough workout on Monday, again to set the tone for the week.

Today I did a challenging full-body strength workout. I will be sore tomorrow--but I love feeling like I've done what I could to start the week off right, at least exercise-wise.

I'm the SAME way.... How Monday goes is usually an indication of how the week is going to go! Good job on the work out today. Tuesday is "my" Monday since I'm gone all day every Monday now (LOL)! So... I'll join you on the workout front tomorrow.

Laura--love the workout pictures! What tape did you do? Are you still working out with the Firm??

Kathy, I haven't used the Firm in years--just got sick of it. Yesterday I did Cathe Friedrich's Power Hour. Lately I've been doing a lot of BeachBody workouts (Slim Series, Power Half Hour, Kathy Smith's "Project You"), and just discovered Jari Love's Get Ripped. So that's the kind of stuff I'm doing. :-)

I keep forgetting that you got tired of the Firm (I'm sure you've told me before). Or maybe I just don't believe that you would truly be done with them for good (as they keep coming up with new ones). I love hearing about new tapes. Do you rent them or buy?

The thing about the Firm is all that new equipment they require, and so much of it not really well made. I've pared down my equipment needs to a full set of dumbbells, a barbell (love my barbell), tall box (from Cathe Friedrich, which uses standard Step risers), and my full-size step. I don't even use my ball much anymore. Every new Firm seemed to require another gadget--blah.

I buy DVDs--though not so many any more. Dh kindly gave me the Kathy Smith set (Project You) for Christmas, and I picked up Get Ripped from TJ Maxx cheap--but they're my only new ones in a couple years, I think. I was in a long slump, alas.

Are you still doing the Firm? I have a soft spot in my heart for them, as they got me into using weights at all, and I do love weights. :-)
