Contortionist

They call him Gumby at his karate class. He's a little flexible, eh?

Jubilant

Somebody got his braces off today. "Jubilant" was his word for how it felt. Yay!

Dinner

Unfortunately, the best I could do today for a picture, but tonight's baked chicken did have a nice golden brown color...

Little Man

This little guy is a new walker and very pleased with himself. Ben and I had fun in the church nursery this morning with four busy little people and way too many toys.

LJ

Luke and his dad sparked up our Saturday with a visit. A good time was had by all, and I was happy to have a new subject to photograph!

Green

This picture is brought to you by the color green.

More Flowers

I'm tired of flowers, frankly, but it's the best I'm able to manage these days. It won't be spring forever; soon I'll have to find something else to photograph.

Mother's Day

All the moms received roses today at church. A rose is truly a beautiful thing, and I had fun taking pictures of mine.

Apple Blossoms

I am really not a gardener at all, and I really do not love flowers the way some people do, so it has been Project 365 that has attuned me to the growing things in our yard. Necessity--the necessity of taking a picture every day--is truly the mother of observation, in my case.

More Science

Other kids start fires while Mom is busy on the computer, not mine. So I thought.

Sunset

I just like it, that's all.

Yawn

This is what can happen when I wait until the end of the day to take a picture.

Recital

Aimée played in a recital given jointly by her teacher and another teacher, also a member of our church. She played beautifully--I got all choked up (don't tell her)--and it was great to hear how far all the kids have come in the past year.

Kipper

I took no pictures during a pretty busy day, and then spent the evening with the camera around my neck hoping something terrific would happen. My son sat next to me to read, which, come to think of it, is pretty terrific.

May Self-Portrait

I committed (to myself, at least) to a monthly self-portrait, but I don't enjoy taking or posting them. This one flatters just about none of my features, but this project was never designed as an ego boost. Can I just say that my hips are not that lumpy in real life? I was out for my morning walk, and my pockets were stuffed with Kleenex and my phone and everyone knows shadows are weirdly proportioned, right?

Historical Report

I spent some time at church today looking at old Annual Reports in preparation for producing the report for this year. This one is the earliest I found, from 1983. I realized looking at it that my job is so much easier than theirs was (thanks to computers and photocopiers), and that this typewritten, partly handwritten, mimeographed report is just fine, and that I shouldn't stress over this year's report. At least--I'm still stressing, but my perspective is a little better.

Azaleas

They're in bloom, and it seemed the right subject for the first day of May. Spring has really sprung now!
